Optimum Design of the Underwater Discharge System Based on Surrogate Modeling

Underwater vehicles are equipped with a device for discharging projectiles, called the underwater discharge system. Because these have limited space, many studies attempted to reduce volume of system while improving its performance. However, owing characteristics system, occupied and performance conflict each other. Therefore, minimizing satisfying required criteria is most significant requirement in design stage. To address this, an optimization problem was mathematically formulated solved using multi-objective genetic algorithms. Additionally, we proposed method surrogate modeling technique find optimum solution quickly. Linear regression, radial basis functions, artificial neural networks were compared generate appropriate model. evaluate applicability method, it applied optimize The results demonstrate that can be effectively utilized obtain within acceptable time.
